Baked Beans with Ground Beef
These Baked beans are a classic and timeless comfort food dish made with a variety beans, mixed with a rich and savory sauce made with ketchup, mustard, onions, and bacon. The mixture is baked in the oven until the flavors meld together beautifully, creating a warm and hearty side dish.

- ½ lb. chopped bacon
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 15.5 oz can kidney beans drained and rinsed
- 1 15.5 oz can lima beans drained and rinsed
- 1 15.5 oz can pork and beans *does not need to be drained!
- 1 15.5 oz can cannellini beans drained and rinsed
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup brown sugar
Preheat the oven to 350℉.
In a Dutch oven, brown the bacon, drain the fat, and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate.
Cook the ground beef and onion in the same pot, over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain the fat.
To the pot, add the cooked bacon, the four cans of beans, 1 teaspoon vinegar, 1 teaspoon dijon, 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup ketchup to the pot with the browned beef and onions. Mix well together.
Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13" casserole dish. Cover and bake for 1 hour until hot and bubbly.
Let the dish stand about a ½ hour before serving. Enjoy!!
This is a recipe that was given to me by my Grandmother. She made this for every family gathering and there were never any leftovers.

Casserole Dish: Feel free to use another size casserole dish. The baking time may take a bit longer.
If you want this less sweet, use half a cup of brown sugar.
