Cuisine American
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 ⅓ cups whole milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- sprinkles
- toppings of your choice
Preheat the waffle iron.
Mix the dry ingredients together. (2 cups of flour, 2 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and ½ teaspoon salt.
Mix the wet ingredients together. (Beat the 2 eggs, and add 1¾ cups of milk, ½ cup of unsalted butter,(melted and mostly cooled) and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.) Mix well until combined.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. A few lumps are ok. Gently fold in the sprinkles reserving some for the topping.
Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or brush with melted butter. Pout about a ½ cup of batter(depending on the size of your waffle iron) close the lid and cook until golden and crispy or the ready light comes on.
Carefully remove the waffles from the waffle iron and serve them warm and top with your favorite toppings.
Sprinkle Selection Matters Use jimmies or confetti sprinkles, not nonpareils, to prevent colors from bleeding into the batter.
Don’t Overmix Stir the batter until just combined for light, fluffy waffles. Overmixing can make them dense.
Careful with Toppings If adding frosting or glaze, let waffles cool slightly so it doesn’t melt right off.
Enjoy and Happy Birthday!!
