The Best Creamy Mashed Potatoes
Smooth and buttery mashed potatoes that will just melt in your mouth. Compliments any meal such as Steak bites, Roasts and Meat loaf.
Equipment
- 1 large pot
- 1 vegetable peeler
- 1 large colander
- 1 handheld mixer and potato masher
- 1 fork for testing
Ingredients
- 5 pounds Russet Potatoes
- 8 tablespoon unsalted butter 1 stick
- ½ cup heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1. Peel and cut the potatoes into uniform sizes.2. Add the potatoes to a large pot of salted, simmering water.3. Bring to a boil and cook for about 30 minutes or until fork tender.4. Drain the potatoes into a large colander and return to the stovetop.5. Mash the potatoes with a masher and add the butter, heavy cream and salt and pepper.6. Whip with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!!!
Notes
This recipe can also be made a day in advance. (I'm all about saving time!)
Put the mashed potatoes in a baking dish and store in the refrigerator.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake for about 30 minutes or until heated through.
