Honey Oat Granola
This homemade honey granola is a delightful blend of oats, nuts, seeds, and a touch of sweetness from honey, baked to golden perfection. It's a versatile and nutritious breakfast option or snack that you can customize with your favorite add-ins like dried fruits or coconut flakes. Equipment
- 1 baking sheet
- 1 mixing bowl
- 1 saucepan
- 1 rubber spatula
- 1 measuring cups
- 1 measuring spoons
Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats not instant or steel cut
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup golden raisins optional
- ⅓ cup almonds chopped and toasted
- 4 tablespoon butter
- 4 tablespoon honey
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
- In a bowl, combine the oats, cinnamon, sugar, raisins, and almonds and toss to mix.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the honey and stir until butter is melted and honey is incorporated. Do not bring to a boil.
- Pour it over the oat mixture and stir.
- Spread the granola on a baking sheet and bake.Using a rubber spatula, stir the mixture every 5 minutes bringing the center into the outside and the outside into the center to ensure even browning.
- Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool to room temperature before serving.
Notes
This delicious granola can be enjoyed plain, with yogurt, as a topping for a smoothie bowl, a salad topping, ice cream topping, etc.
